SYNTHWAVE SOUNDCLOUD ROUND_UP (Aug Week 3)
Synthriders, welcome and take notice of our Soundcloud Round-up week 3. This is the place where we showcase hot and new tracks in the Synthwave, Retrowave, Outrun and Futuresynth scene. Yet another super excited week full of great new track so dig in and discover!
Mythical Vigilante is back with a new gem. ‘Blue Scorpion’ is a straight up killer track that makes you get up and dance on the tables. With no care in the world, we’re entering the realm of the mysterious blue predatory arachnids, ready to sting you with some of that intectious synthwave/outrun venom.
Foreign Blade has just announced a new album of raw and rogue synthwave. ‘Huntdown’ sounds like a one man army on the move, ready to take out his enemies and strike with a vengeance. Get set for an action packed adventure, that goes all through the night with sleek rain and cyberpunks crawling all over the place.
Keeping it on the darksynth path, ‘Krush Kill ‘n’ Destroy’ by Holew goes straight for the kill. Yes, killer synthwave, dark style and set in a post-apocalyptic setting with a decent amount of danger included. Dedicated and inspired to the RPG ‘KKND2 Krossfire’, this imaginary soundtrack does the game more than justice. With this new track Holow displays a nice continuation of his previous album ‘Metro 2099’, as this track will be on his next EP/album.
Up next we have synth master Atrey swinging his bassline around like a boss. ‘Garden of Sinners’ carries a more sinister tone but surely leaves room enough for a breather and slams some epic crossover vibes between synthwave, trap, and electro. Great direction he’s taking with this track and we’re eager to hear more.
Futurecop! has released their wonderful, epic and long awaited new album ‘Return to AlvoGrath’ (which we have reviewed here). We couldn’t help but highlight a special track from this album recnetly posted on Soundcloud. Short yet sweet, this oh-so-lovely track just oozes magic. ‘Books of Averoes ft Hunz’ just channels that lovely, positive and spiritual energy Futurecop! likes to evoke, so enjoy!
Synthwave darling and romantic pop star Nina has released a new EP with two original tracks and a bunch of remixes. We’re happy to highlight the track ‘Counting Stars’, a dreamy song that transitions lovely between hope, melancholy and compassion. Nina doing what Nina does best on this track here, her sweet voice singing a heartfelt pop song that surely will pass the test of time.
Cool, and now we move on to Silverhawk, bringing some extra funk and old-school electro elements in his new track ‘Second Skin’. Boy, is this rocking. Orchestral Stabs; flowing triplet synths, 808 drums and a sax solo to cap things off. Rock on, SilverHawk, this is the jam!
Norway’s synth-duo Takta has released ‘Drifting’ a sweet, gentle and flowing song that captures a spirit of dreamwave in it’s purest form. Synths are streamining together with with percussive rhythms and a groovy bassline. With a massive guitar solo palying it’s lead role, all seems to be working together just nicely and like an oiled machine you drift along the highway all through the midnight hour.
And oh my gosh, up next this is just a perfect theme song of Dzod and JJ Mist.Possibly one of the most powerful synthwave vocal songs that has dropped recently. ‘Power Strangers’ sounds just like a title track of some great anime you wished it never ended. It’s a feel good tune that takes is so easy. A great, subtle production of a jumping bassline, melodic synths and spacious paths but it’s JJ Mist just slaying it on vocals which makes that song really stand out. So nostalgic and heartfelt, beautiful.
Well, with ‘Power Strangers’ we’d like to end this week’s Round-up. A lot of great treasures to be found again next week. Meanwhile, please support the artist by giving them likes, buying and the music and sharing this article. Stay tuned and keep it synth!
